Between the city centre and North Adelaide, the Adelaide Oval dominates the parklands. The Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide football teams call this place home for the AFL season and it is used for cricket games in the off season. AFL matches began officially at this venue in 2014, however the first game actually took place when Port Adelaide and Melbourne battled it out in Round 24 of 2011.
In other areas of entertainment, the Adelaide Oval has hosted many famous concerts over the years. From Fleetwood Mac to David Bowie, Madonna and Paul McCartney have all performed here to crowds who were undoubtedly impressed with the talents in the stadium.
