2015 AFL Rookie Up and Comers!

Here are the top 10 AFL up and coming Rookies that have worked hard, and have a lot to prove this 2015 season. Keep an eye out, as these newcomers are sure to shake things up!

Angus Brayshaw – Demons
The no. 3 pick in the 2014 draft is expected to ignite the Demons’ fresh-faced midfield with his toughness around the hard-ball.

Jarrod Garlett – Suns
The speedster looks to play an interesting role in this young Suns team. In pre-season alone, we have seen some wonder- goals and highlight plays, expect plenty more from the 18-year-old.

Blaine Broekhorst – Blues
The slick midfielder will provide some hard running out wide. Broekhorst’s agility and evasiveness should liven up the Blues midfield this year.

Isaac Heeney – Swans
The Swans academy product is the real deal. A ball-winning midfielder who looks a great chance to crack into Sydney’s ultra-competitive midfield group this season.

Jarrod Pickett – Giants
The feather-weight forward is as explosive as they come, with shades of Lewis Jetta’s blistering pace. Watch out for him flying down the ground and racking up the highlights.

Jordan De Goey- Magpies
The rugged 18-year-old possesses a great kicking game and has impressed in pre-season. Taken with the no. 5 pick in the draft, expectations are high.

Jack Steele – Giants
The tough-tacklng forward has an eye for goal and possesses supreme fitness. Steele should add some toughness and poise to the Giants midfield this year.

Kane Lambert – Tigers
At 23-years-old, Lambert has worked his way into the AFL the hard way. The midfielder physically has the tools to adapt to the AFL level and some early run would not be a surprise.

Nakia Cockatoo – Cats
The lighting midfielder will provide some much-needed run through the middle for the Cats, especially with the dparture of Travis Varcoe. He has impressed in the NAB Challenge and has an eye for goal to go with his blistering speed.

Patrick McCartin – Saints
The no. 1 pick has been hailed as the next in line in St Kilda’s forward pack. He’s a strong mark and more of a traditional full-forward. How much he actually plays this year is uncertain, but when he does, it will be worth the watch.
