Feature Game #1 – Adelaide Crows vs GWS Giants

When: September 7, 2017
Where: Adelaide Oval
Odds: Crows $1.56, Giants $2.55
The Crows host the Giants on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. We’ll provide an overview of the clash below.

Form:

The Crows have lost two matches in a row but they still finished on top of the ladder. As a result, they earned a home final and they can move into the Preliminary Final with a win. GWS aren’t in great form either as the Cats thrashed them in Round 23. They’ll also be looking to avenge a large defeat in Round 1 against the Crows at the Adelaide Oval.

Venue Record:

Adelaide are 34-14 overall at the Adelaide Oval. They have a 8-3 record at the venue this season. The Giants have played here five times and only have one win against the Power in 2016.

Team News:

The Crows have lost Rory Sloane in a blow to the midfield. But Taylor Walker, Daniel Talia and Hugh Greenwood return. Keath and Milera are the other outs. For the Giants, they’ve dropped Stevie J and Devon Smith is out with injury. de Boer and Himmelberg replace the pair.

History:

The Crows lead the head to head 7-1 since the first meeting in 2012. They also thrashed the Giants in Round 1 as they kicked 22 goals to 14.

Tip:

Crows WIN ($1.56)
The finals should start with a victory for the home side. They’re missing Sloane but as they showed in Round 1, the Giants will struggle away from home.
Ladbrokes Promo Market – Best Bet: Matt Crouch to have 33 or more disposals and Adelaide win the match ($3.25)
Crownbet AFL Points Pile-Up:
Place a Head to Head bet (minimum $20) on this game and if your team wins, you’ll get $1 in Bonus Bets for every point they win by.

Feature Game #2 – Geelong Cats vs Richmond Tigers

When: September 8, 2017
Where: Melbourne Cricket Ground
Odds: Cats $1.74, Tigers $2.15
The Cats host the Tigers on Friday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. We’ll provide an overview of the clash below.

Form:

Geelong hit the finals with three straight wins and the return of their skipper. They have an excellent record against the Tigers and they’ll look to continue their form in the finals.

The Tigers will be thrilled that this match is at the MCG and they’ll look to end a losing streak against the Cats. They’ll also be looking to end a 4 match losing streak in the finals. They have a 4-1 record in the past 5 matches before the finals this season.

Venue Record:

The Tigers have won four in a row at the MCG and they love playing here. The Cats have played at the MCG 5 times this season and they’re 3-2.

Team News:

Geelong welcome back Joel Selwood from injury. Daniel Menzel has been dropped along with Wylie Buzza. Zach Guthrie is the other in. For the Tigers, Josh Caddy is back from injury and Oleg Markov makes way.

History:

The two sides met recently in Round 21 and the Cats kept up their winning form against the Tigers with a 14 point win at Kardina Park. Since 2006, the Tigers are 0-13 against the Cats and the last win at the MCG was back in 1999.

Tip:

Cats WIN ($1.74)
The Cats are the favourites but this should be a close match again between the sides. The addition of Selwood gives the Cats an edge and Dangerfield will be looking to out-perform Dusty Martin. Back the Cats here.
Ladbrokes Promo Market – Best Bet: Patrick Dangerfield to have 32 or more disposals and Geelong win the match ($3.75)
Crownbet AFL Points Pile-Up:
Place a Head to Head bet (minimum $20) on this game and if your team wins, you’ll get $1 in Bonus Bets for every point they win by.

Feature Game #3 – Sydney Swans vs Essendon Bombers

When: September 9, 2017
Where: Sydney Cricket Ground
Odds: Swans $1.20, Bombers $4.80
The Swans host the Bombers on Saturday at the Sydney Cricket Ground. We’ll provide an overview of the clash below.

Form:

Sydney have won four straight matches as they head into an Elimination Final against the Bombers. They’ll be happy to be playing at the SCG and they beat the Crows by 6 goals in the semi finals last year.

The Bombers went 3-2 in their last 5 matches before the finals and they’ll need to overcome the Swans in Sydney. They have lost three finals in a row since 2009 and they don’t have a great record in Sydney.

Venue Record:

Sydney haven’t lost at the SCG since Round 10 and they’ve won 6 in a row at the venue. Dating back to 1998, the Swans are 3-0 in finals at the SCG. The Bombers last win at the SCG was back in 2009 and they’ve lost 5 in a row here.

Team News:

For the Swans, they’ve added Naismith, Hannebery and Papley. Cunningham, Hayward and Tippett are the outs. The Bombers welcome back Fantasia in the forward line and Hurley down back. But Cale Hooker is out, along with Laverde.

History:

The last meeting was one of the best matches this season as the Swans won on the final siren. Since 2012, the Bombers haven’t beaten the Swans but really they should have won in Round 14 this year.

Tip:

Swans WIN ($1.20)
The Swans are the shortest price favourite of the finals and they’ll be tough to beat at home. The form of Buddy Franklin has them in prime position at the SCG and they have a great home record. Back the Swannies.
Ladbrokes Promo Market – Best Bet: Lance Franklin to kick 4 or more goals and Sydney win the match ($2.75)
Crownbet AFL Points Pile-Up:
Place a Head to Head bet (minimum $20) on this game and if your team wins, you’ll get $1 in Bonus Bets for every point they win by.

Feature Game #4 – Port Adelaide Power vs West Coast Eagles

When: September 9, 2017
Where: Adelaide Oval
Odds: Power $1.45, Eagles $2.85
The Power host the Eagles on Saturday at the Adelaide Oval. We’ll provide an overview of the clash below.

Form:

The Power just missed a top four spot by percentage but they host a home final against the Eagles. They have won three in a row before the finals, including a 100+ point win over the Suns.

The Eagles made the top eight by percentage and they’ll be keen to end the Power’s season. They lost to them in Round 16 this season but they have won the last three at the Adelaide Oval against the Power.

Venue Record:

The Eagles have a great record at the Adelaide Oval as they’ve won 5 of 6 matches. They’ve also never lost against the Power here. The Power went 8-3 at the Adelaide Oval this year. They’ve only played 1 final here and they beat the Tigers in 2014.

Team News:

Jarman Impey is back for the Power and Aidyn Johnson is omitted. The Eagles are the only side with an unchanged team this week.

History:

The Eagles lead the head to head 6-5 since 2010. However, the Power upset them by 32 points at Subiaco in Round 16. But the Eagles are 5-0 against them in Adelaide. The two sides last met in the finals in 2007 and the Power won by just 3 points.

Tip:

Eagles WIN ($2.85)
The last final has the best chance for an upset. The Eagles play well in Adelaide against the Power. They also have extra motivation with a few players retiring after the season. Back the Eagles for a value bet.
Ladbrokes Promo Market – Best Bet: Josh Kennedy to kick 3 or more goals and West Coast win the match ($5)
Crownbet AFL Points Pile-Up:
Place a Head to Head bet (minimum $20) on this game and if your team wins, you’ll get $1 in Bonus Bets for every point they win by.
