Fremantle Dockers

Fremantle Dockers Logo and Guernsey AFL

The Fremantle Dockers are proudly flying the AFL flag in the west coast of Australia, becoming the second team after the West Coast Eagles to move to Western Australia in 1995.

Since 1897, Fremantle Oval has been the main venue for AFL matches around Perth. The AFL were happy to announce a new team to be created out west in 1993 which is when the idea of the Fremantle Dockers came about.

The Fremantle Dockers endured some difficult first seasons, persevering in their purple, red, green, and white colours and made it to the finals at last in 2003. Although they lost to Essendon, this boosted the team morale and kept them trying their best. They had another finals win in 2012 where they managed an underdog victory against the Geelong Cats.
