West Coast Eagles

West Coast Eagles Logo & Guernsey AFL

Based in Perth, the West Coast Eagles have been around since 1986 and played the first competitive match in the Australian Football League in 1987. They quickly made a name for themselves, making it to the finals in 1991 where they lost to the Hawthorn Hawks. Nonetheless, they remained one of the most successful clubs throughout the 1990s. They won their third premiership in 2006 where they made a comeback after their 1992 and 1994 wins. The boys from the west coast made it to the Grand Final for the sixth time in 2015 but they against lost to Hawthorn.

The West Coast Eagles have always been a solid side in the league, although they missed out on the finals between 2008 and 2010. They have had some turbulent times in the media in 2007 thanks to players such as Ben Cousins who breached many club rules and Daniel Kerr who was charged for assault on two separate incidents. 2007 was also the year that captain Chris Judd decided to leave the team and move back to his home city of Melbourne to play for rivals Carlton.
